What the work actually looks like

Anonymised accounts of real matters. Each one sets out what was alleged, what the papers showed on first reading, which argument was chosen and why, what happened in the room, and how it ended. There are no success rates on these pages and there never will be.

A number of firms publish figures at this point: cases won, dismissals avoided, percentages. We do not, and it is worth explaining why rather than leaving it as an absence.

No representative can guarantee an outcome, and a percentage implies one. It invites you to read your own case into an average built from other people’s facts, at the moment you are least able to interrogate it. Our published position is that any service implying it can determine the result is misleading you, and that applies to us as much as to anyone else.

What follows is specific instead. One matter at a time, what was done, and what happened in that case.
