Why it works

What this gives you

First impressions decide cases

The ET1 is the first document a judge reads. A muddled claim invites strike-out applications and deposit orders; a structured one frames everything that follows.

Deadlines protected

Tribunal time limits are unforgiving: six months from 1 October 2026, three months less one day before that, adjusted by Early Conciliation. We verify the calculation before anything else.

The right claims, pleaded

Unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, unlawful deductions, we identify what the facts actually support and plead it precisely.

Submission-ready

You receive the completed claim ready to present, with the ACAS Early Conciliation certificate correctly integrated.

Transparent fees

What it costs

Bands A–C £495Band D £625Band E £750 Salary-banded · No VAT

Bands A to C share one fee. Bands D and E are higher because a schedule of loss at those earnings usually brings in occupational pension, bonus and incentive arrangements, and a longer period of future loss. That is more drafting, and the fee reflects it. Your band is set by your gross annual salary, which you tell us. We do not ask you to evidence it. A word on VAT: solicitor fees are almost always quoted excluding VAT, which adds 20 per cent to the figure you are shown. Zhan Associates is not VAT registered, so the fee quoted here is the fee you pay. On a standard tribunal claim that difference alone is often £150 to £300.

How salary-banded fees work

Fees are scaled to your gross annual salary — Band A (under £30,000), Band B (£30,000–£39,999), Band C (£40,000–£59,999), Band D (£60,000–£79,999) and Band E (£80,000+). Your exact fixed fee is confirmed in your Engagement Letter before any work begins. We are not VAT registered, so no VAT is added: the fee quoted is the fee you pay.

Questions, answered plainly

Frequently asked questions

For most claims, six months from the act complained of where that act falls on or after 1 October 2026, and three months less one day where it falls before that. For unfair dismissal the clock runs from the effective date of termination, extended by the Early Conciliation period. If your deadline is close, contact us today rather than tomorrow.

Basic suits single, straightforward claims. Where the facts need a detailed narrative and a schedule of loss, the Standard tier applies; discrimination, whistleblowing and constructive dismissal claims need the Complex tier. The free consultation scopes it accurately.

There is currently no fee to present an employment tribunal claim.

Our tribunal service covers preparation and claim drafting. Where a case proceeds to a full hearing, we advise on representation options, including working alongside a solicitor through our referral network.
